Imagine Early

There are many challenges to a successful future for students in Wabash County: academic readiness, financial preparedness, engagement in learning, orientation to the future, and reaching one’s potential. Unaddressed, these challenges block the path to opportunities for success.

The Community Foundation of Wabash County and the Wabash County YMCA understand these challenges. We know that parents are striving to provide the best for their children, but often feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. This is why we created Imagine Early: to empower families to accumulate assets and engage with their future now. We are not waiting until they graduate from high school to give them scholarships. We award early.

Imagine Early is designed to transform everyday schoolwork and saving into opportunities, empowering students from birth through 8th grade to imagine their future early and earn up to $1500 in early award scholarships and savings matches for their education after high school. That’s right – everyday schoolwork and small savings build hope and a path to success for students, while reducing financial barriers. Students quite literally earn scholarship money as they complete schoolwork and make deposits, so it’s something they feel and benefit from both today and years in the future when they enroll in a certification or degree program and request their scholarships.
