Wabash City Schools Transportation Department maintains approximately 25 active employees who utilize a fleet of more than 20 vehicles to transport our students to and from school. On any given morning or afternoon, we transport nearly 75% of our student body. 

 

Each school year, we provide extra-curricular transportation for our athletes, musicians, and academic students. Our drivers are conscientious professionals who go above and beyond to ensure the safety of their passengers and the motorists with whom they share the road. 

 

Wabash City Schools “The Apache Way” travels with us on our routes, field trips, and extra-curricular events. It is our privilege to serve the Wabash Community.

Bus Routes

All bus routes are established by the Transportation Department. Parents/Guardians can register students for transportation by completing the online Transportation Change Form.

GENERAL SCHEDULING RULES

  1. Keep a consistent transportation schedule for your student. Numerous changes in transportation can lead to confusion for the student, school staff and transportation staff. 

  2. Any changes during the school year must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to taking effect. This allows time for routing and notification of parent, bus driver and school.

  3. If you have a sudden same-day change, you must contact the Transportation Department at 260-274-0705 to get an emergency pass. This should only be the case in emergency situations.

  4. Students are expected to be out at their designated bus stop waiting on the bus five (5) minutes prior to the designated stop time. Please allow +/-5 minutes to pick up times as bus times may vary due to construction, traffic, trains and other factors.

  5. Allow ten (10) minutes after the bus stop time before leaving the designated pick-up point or calling the transportation office.

  6. Service to other students is delayed if buses have to wait on students. Therefore, drivers are instructed not to wait for students who are not at the bus stop on time.

Safety is a Community Responsibility

Motorist Safety

  • When backing out of a driveway or leaving a garage, watch out for children walking or bicycling to school.

  • When driving in neighborhoods, watch out for young people who may be thinking about getting to school, but may not be thinking of getting there safely.

  • Watch for children walking in the street, especially if there are no sidewalks in the neighborhood.

  • Watch for children playing and congregating near bus stops.

  • Be alert ~ Children arriving late for the bus may dart into the street without looking for traffic.

  • Yellow flashing lights indicate that the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Motorist should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles.

  • Red flashing lights and extended stop arms indicate that the bus has stopped, and that children are getting on or off. Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop sign is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before they can start driving again.

Ride 360 Tracking App

Ride 360 allows you to keep track of your students' bus assignments, updated transportation information, and real time alerts from the Transportation Department.  You can access this information 2 ways:

  1. Download the Ride 360 app available in both the Apple Store and Google Play for Android.

  2. Follow this link to be taken to the web based site.

 

You will need to log in to Skyward and click the APACHES DOCUMENTS to obtain your student ID that is connected to their transportation.  That document is called "STN- BUS INFO" 

 

Once you have the student ID (STN), you can link your students to your Ride 360 account.  You will see their bus number, bus driver, pick up and drop off location and times.  

 

You will still need to continue to fill out the Google Transportation Form if you need a change in transportation but this app will allow you to see the updated information as soon as it's assigned to your student.
